Aster Needle (Callistephus chinensis) is a variety whose flowers delight with a delicate and subtle appearance. The unusual inflorescences look as if they were made of tiny needles. This aster is an annual plant that reaches 60-80 cm in height and forms strong stems topped with magnificent inflorescences. Very large flowers, 12-16 cm in diameter. Aster Needle begins to bloom in summer, flowers continue to unfold until the first frost. Asters are one of the most popular cut flower plants, but they will also be a lovely decoration for any bedding or flowerbed.

This species is very easy to grow from seed as they germinate and grow quickly. Aster seeds can be sown in a heated room in early spring or directly into the ground in May. Asters are not resistant to low temperatures, so seedlings should be planted in their permanent place only in the second half of May. Needle aster grows best and blooms beautifully when planted in full sun and rich, moist but well-drained soil.
