If you are in flavor of a diet rich in fresh vegetables, Calabrese Natalino broccoli should not be missing in your garden. This easy-to-grow variety with exceptionally high fertility is famous for large, beautifully colored roses with an excellent taste. Perfect for novice gardeners. When composing a vegetable garden, it is worth remembering that broccoli is one of the most valuable brassica vegetables: it contains record amounts of mineral salts and vitamins, is low-calorie and easily digestible, and thanks to a large amount of fiber - also filling.

Latin name: Brassica oleracea var. botrytis italica

Life form: annual plantRose: Calabrese Natalino produces large, strongly concentrated roses with a dark green color, surrounded by rosettes of magnificent leaves. After cutting the main roses in a short time, numerous side roses of equally high quality are formed. This variety is famous for its outstanding fertility and excellent, expressive taste.

Sowing date: We start cultivation in spring with the production of seedlings.

Date of yielding and harvesting: Depending on the date of sowing seeds, harvesting can be carried out from July to September.Stand: In order for the broccoli offered in our store to develop its yield-forming potential, it is worth devoting it to a position located on quickly warming loam-sandy soil. The substrate must be rich in humus, humid and un acidified. We will acquire the most generous, focused and beautifully colored roses in a semi-shaded place.

Spacing: The seedling is planted into the ground at a spacing of not less than 50 x 50 cm.

Frost resistance: Broccoli is sensitive to frost, so that its cultivation is a complete success, young plants obtained from seeds should be planted in the ground only from mid-May.

Application: Large, dark green roses are great for consumption immediately after harvest.

You can also freeze them to gain valuable raw material for soups and hot vegetable.

Broccoli is a rich source of iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus, and is also rich in vitamin C and provitamin A, chlorophyll, fiber and easily digestible protein.
