Japanese Dogwood 'Milky Way' (Cornus Kousa 'Milky Way')
A very decorative variety of Dogwood Kousa, which comes from the USA, grows in the form of a tree or a bush and grows in our conditions up to 3 - 4 m in height.
This variety is characterized by exceptionally abundant flowering and fruiting, during the flowering period it is entirely covered with inflorescences surrounded by large, white bract petals.
Edible fruits, very tasty, 2 cm in size and red in color, ripen in autumn, resemble raspberry fruits, placed on long stalks.
This species is perfect for planting in color groups and in its own group, as a background for perennials and for single plantings, i.e. as a solitaire.
Dogwood Kousa is also suitable for making miniature trees.
Bonsai likes pruning, even the most intensive ones. In our climate, the species is completely frost-resistant, the soil should be fertile and the location should be sunny.
Sowing seeds and growing:
Sowing seeds all year round into containers or soil: IV, before sowing, soak the seeds in water for 24 hours and then perform 60-day stratification at a temperature of 3 + 5 C.
Sow in containers with ordinary garden soil, water the sowing and leave it in a warm place, protect the seedlings from frost during the first year of cultivation.
